AIRWAYS and AIR CARS – The new infrastructure we will love and the new ecosystem of our flying…vehicles

While in our country we are struggling to bring the ecosystem of electrification to land, through hybrid or "pure-blood" electrified means of transport, in the rest of the technologically advanced nations, the ecosystems of electrification are already being organized and
GREEN MOVEMENT (i.e. movement with engines that burn green fuels), for all forms on water and in the air. London welcomes autonomous river taxis while in
America and China, UBER is rapidly establishing the air taxi ecosystem.

Motorized air requires suitable landing-takeoff areas as well as suitable airstrips. The infrastructure of "air traffic controllers" and control towers for small AIRCRAFT will have to change drastically and evolve as the new times of private air navigation will demand. As we use motorcycles today, the theria-keyed Icarian Greeks in 2050, will use their AIR MOTORCYCLES (AIR MACHINERY), remember these new synthetic words that will be introduced into our everyday life!

 

Obviously, flying, on the Greek airwaves, inside or outside the cities, will need a vertical take-off and landing point from the CAA. Internationally, in urban areas vertical take-off-landing points, which are multiplying every year, are usually open spaces in a parking lot, while a large proportion of them are now placed on building roofs. In the supreme Greek language we introduce today the term YPSIDROMIA as more testable for these infrastructures. Looking at the maturity time series of other new infrastructures related to newly entering means of transport, I consider that in today's Greek neighborhoods where now the zone price of the Ministry of Finance has them above 2500/sq.m. I predict that there will be 1 HIGHWAY for every 5000 inhabitants by the year 2050! plus or minus 5 years.

 

The evolution of urban and regional aviation, manned or unmanned,
electric or green-powered, will always depend on the possibility of having safe places, sited and licensed (based on legislation), landing-takeoff infrastructures for the newly entering AIR CARS (AIR CARS) and AIR MOTORCYCLES (AIRCRAFT). AIRCRAFT and all kinds of AIRCRAFT will change our way of life many times in the future.

 

We must participate as equals in international transport developments due to the ideal location of our EEZ at the confluence of three continents. In our post-Covid and post-Tempe era, the understanding of the problems of our economy and the Greek problem (which holds up well...as the late Prof. Daskalakis explained in the 1950s), has opened wide the social mandate that requires proactive public policies with brave reforms. A NATIONAL MICRO AIRCRAFT TRANSPORT PLAN must be created, now that they are still in a semi-mature stage, so that there are also the necessary business clusters here that will export know-how and bring brain gains and foreign exchange. Blockchain and swarming AI technologies will be able to safely resolve all of our routes, no matter what ALTITUDE will be our starting and destination points with our aircraft, and will be called network-centric aeronautics. Recovery Fund resources can initiate and support the institutional changes needed to implement a national plan for urban and peri-urban transport with micro-aircraft, which will accelerate investment in all directions.


So there is a window of opportunity that we need to vigorously raise in the public sphere for political response to establish the legal framework that will definitely support investment in these technologies, which will certainly become mature within the decade. All types of electric and green technologies for air transport, but also secondary water transport (we are not talking about our water transport today in this article).

Should the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure together with the supervised body of the CAA pass to the public consultation the issues of autonomous aircraft, legally establishing the new innovative ecosystems of ALL types of electric mobility / green mobility and their related infrastructures, e.g. HIGHWAY.


So remember the words HIGH RUNWAY and AIR CARS, AIR MOTORCYCLES (AIRPLACES) but also GREEN MOVEMENT and COMBINED MOVEMENT because
I predict…our grandchildren will be amazed by the ground-moving machines we use
today. The Greek sky, if all aircraft must be powered only by electric propulsion/green propulsion (or fusion propulsion later) then it will be cleaner and
bluer than today. The Greek state must bring the required ones faster
institutional transformations needed today in order to invite corresponding developments and
investments in GORGA emerging aerospace economy. Let us win the new ethers and become a truly Ikarian people, and a place with a modern aviation economy and
institutions that respond to developments. I remind you that the Greek Sun, this titanium and
our colossal Sun…, will dry our wings and illuminate our aviation future.
