PHOTOVOLTAIC PARKS

Net-Metering is the netting of produced-consumed energy and is mainly applied for photovoltaic installations. Net-Metering allows the consumer to cover a significant part of the energy he consumes while at the same time enabling him to use the grid for indirect storage of the green energy produced by his photovoltaic system. The term "net" results from the difference between consumed and produced energy in a certain period of time. This period is usually each counting and pricing cycle of the consumed energy. If there is an excess of energy, it is usually not lost to the consumer but offset for a certain three-year time period, when the final liquidation and zeroing takes place at the start of a new three-year period.

The main beneficial aspects of net metering and PV systems include:

  • Financial savings: By installing solar panels, homeowners can reduce their electricity costs as they generate their own electricity. In areas with sufficient sunshine, this can lead to significant savings on your electricity bill.
  • Energy Independence: By being able to generate their own electricity, PV system owners become less dependent on energy supplies and electricity prices.
  • Environmental Protection: The use of photovoltaic panels reduces the need for energy production from fossil fuels, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution and promotes "green energy" (environmentally responsible technology with zero carbon dioxide emissions)
  • Improving energy perception: through digital visualization of production and consumption
  • Amortisation: due to the very long lifetime of the photovoltaic system which reaches 30 years
  • Increase in resale value of the property: through increasing the energy class of the building
